Business Hardship Grant

The Business Hardship Grant fund has been set up to support small businesses outside the scope of any of the Government’s COVID 19 financial support schemes for businesses. Businesses must be able to demonstrate hardship as a result of a significant impact on their business due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Businesses that are eligible for alternative or have already received COVID-19 grant support will not be eligible.

This is a one-off grant of £5,000 per eligible business.

There is a limited amount of funding available, so not all businesses applying will receive a grant. Applications will be subject to an appraisal process and grants will be provided at the discretion of South Tyneside Council. There will be no appeals process

Details submitted on your application will be checked with National Fraud Initiative.
